The CPI (MoM) is a measure of the average montly change in the prices of goods and services purchased by households. It is used by the Central Bank to maintain price stability. A higher than expected reading is generally good for the BRL, while a lower than expected reading is generally bad for the BRL. The CPI is an important way to track changes in purchasing trends and inflation.
