The Gross Debt-to-GDP ratio is a measure of a country’s national debt as a percentage of its Gross Domestic Product. A low ratio indicates that the economy is producing a large amount of goods and services and is likely able to pay back its debts. A higher than expected reading is generally considered bad for the BRL, while a lower than expected reading is considered good for the BRL.
