Average Hourly Earnings (MoM) for the USA is an indicator that measures the change in the amount of money businesses pay for labor, excluding the agricultural sector. This data is released by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics and is considered an important measure of labor cost inflation and labor market tightness. A higher than expected reading is generally seen as positive for the USD, while a lower than expected reading is seen as negative. The Federal Reserve takes average hourly earnings into account when making decisions about interest rates.
