The Core Personal Consumption Expenditure (PCE) is a measure of inflation that tracks month-over- month changes in the prices of goods and services purchased by consumers for the purpose of consumption, excluding food and energy. It measures price change from the perspective of the consumer. It is used by the Federal Reserve as a key gauge for inflation in the US economy.
