Housing Starts (MoM) for the USA is an indicator that tracks the month-over-month change in the number of new single-family homes or buildings constructed during a given month. It is released by the US Census Bureau, at the Department of Commerce. The construction industry is one of the first to go into a recession when the economy declines but also to recover as conditions improve. A higher than expected number should be taken as positive to the USD, while a lower than expected number as negative.
