Retail Sales (MoM) for Brazil measures the change in the total value of sales at the retail level, adjusted for inflation, on a month-on-month basis. It is an important indicator of consumer spending, which makes up the majority of overall economic activity. A higher than expected reading is generally considered good for the BRL, while a lower than expected reading is considered bad for the BRL.
