Mexico's Retail Sales (MoM) tracks the monthly fluctuations in the value of inflation-adjusted sales at the retail level, serving as a key measure of consumer spending. It covers sales of goods and services by various types of retail businesses, such as department stores, supermarkets, specialty stores, and online retailers. It excludes sales of motor vehicles and parts, gasoline stations, and food services. Consumer spending plays a significant role in overall economic activity. Higher-than-expected readings are considered positive/bullish for the MXN, while lower-than-expected readings are seen as negative/bearish for the MXN.
