Mexico's Retail Sales (YoY) monitors the annual changes in the value of inflation-adjusted sales at the retail level, providing insights into consumer spending. It encompasses sales from diverse retail businesses, including department stores, supermarkets, specialty stores, and online retailers. Excluded are sales of motor vehicles and parts, gasoline stations, and food services. Consumer spending plays a crucial role in overall economic activity. Higher-than-expected readings are viewed as positive/bullish for the MXN, while lower-than-expected readings are regarded as negative/bearish for the MXN.
