Durable Goods Orders for the USA is an indicator that measures the cost of orders received by manufacturers for durable goods, such as motor vehicles and appliances, that are intended to last for at least three years. This data is released by the US Census Bureau. These durable products often involve significant investments and are therefore sensitive to the state of the US economy. A reading that is higher than expected is generally seen as positive for the USD, while a lower than expected reading is seen as negative.
